Our Project Coordinator, Dr. Miguel Alaminos was in charge of organizing the first Symposium of Advanced Therapies and Biomedical Technology of the Biomedical Research Institute of Granada. The Symposium took place on 10th of September of 2019 and gathered scientists belonging to the Institute whose research lines are related to the advanced therapies field (link to the Symposium schedule).
Dr. Miguel Alaminos, as Principal Investigator of the Tissue Engineering Research Group, also took part in the Symposium with an oral presentation entitled “Development of novel advanced therapy products by tissue engineering”. This presentation gave a brief review of the different artificial tissue models developed by the group including preliminary results of the bioengineered skin substitutes of the NanoGSkin project.
The Andalusian Network for Design And Translation of Advanced Therapies (RAD&TAT), supporter of the NanoGSkin project, also participated in the Symposium with an oral presentation about “The regulatory framework in the development of advanced therapy medicinal products”. The speech was given by Gloria Carmona, Head of Quality Assessment and GMP facilities.
The Symposium allowed us to spread the NanoGSKin project and strengthening synergies in the field of advanced therapies.
